Being Out in The Workplace
An interview with Ezra Ray
Ezra identifies as a trans nonbinary individual, using the terms “queer” and “lesbian” to describe their sexuality. I interviewed them to help tell a story about the various aspects of what it is like being out in a workplace with an overall accepting work culture surrounding the LGBTQ+ community. Ezra was able to provide a unique perspective to this story, as both their gender identity and their sexuality are fluid. Being able to interview them was great not only because of their fluidity with labels and their accompanying knowledge and experience, but also because they are out and proud in the workplace, so they were truly able to speak on the issues discussed in our interview.
