GMercyU’s women’s soccer had a standout season this year, making it to the championship game for the first time since 2001. This run was not just about talent but about the way the team connected and grew together over time.
With a mix of upperclassmen leadership and freshmen stepping into new roles, the group found a rhythm that carried them through the season. Senior goalkeeper and captain, Natalie Gablein, helped lead the team both on and off the field, setting the tone with her consistency and energy.
Assistant coach Brianna McDonald, who once played for the program, brought her own experience into the team’s growth and mindset. Even though the team fell short in the final game, the season meant a lot more than the result. It showed how far the program has come and gave a glimpse into where it is headed next.
